You can select one of the listed categories to filter and only show items that are relevant to your selection.

For the most popular tours (primarily ice caves in winter), you can generally book them directly online. You can also choose to pay right away, or we can settle the payment on the day of the tour. I do not require any down payments. For more customised arrangements, bookings are best done by email as there is often some back and forth dialogue to put together the ideal program and timing.

It is not possible to book tours directly by private messages on social media. I am happy to respond to general inquiries on those channels, but need to keep the overall booking process manageable with the severely limited time I have for administrative tasks.

According to my terms & conditions, you can cancel up to 48 hours before the start of the tour and receive a full refund of any amounts paid. Shorter-term cancellations will be charged 50%. No-shows will be charged the full amount.

My tours are outdoor activities in a country that can exhibit very hostile weather conditions. As such, there is always a possibility that a tour may need to be canceled or modified due to sever weather or other safety concerns, even on short notice. For this reason it is important that you specify some contact information with your booking that I can use to reach you during your visit to Iceland and discuss any changes that may be required.

Naturally, such cancellations will receive a full refund.

All major credit cards will work, as well as cash payments in ISK, EUR or USD. For cash payments, please note that I cannot give change for cash payments and have the exact amount ready. An accurate tool to make the conversion is the Landsbankinn exchange rate calculator (use the “buy rate”).

For bookings from travel agencies, we can also arrange for invoicing and direct bank transfers. The bank details will be specified on your invoice.

PayPal, Vemno or other similar services are not available.

I generally arrange for refunds on the same day as the cancellation, but it may take a few business days for banks / credit card companies to process them.

No, except in some very specific circumstances which I would address by email.

You are always welcome to make a down payment or pay the full amount ahead of time if you would like to, but I feel that making it a strict requirement unnecessarily complicates things. In over ten years I have very rarely encountered a situation where I would have benefitted from having received one.

This depends a bit on the character of the tour, but generally speaking any specialised equipment that is specific to the tour is provided. For example, a coastal hike may not require any particular items, but for mountain / glacier hikes and ice caves this may include helmets, climbing harnesses, microspikes, crampons, and/or ice axes.

What is not provided: any clothing or rain wear, backpacks, footwear, gloves, etc. Larger companies may be able to provide those for their customers, but as a one man operation I cannot realistically maintain a selection of all possible items and sizes. Please make sure you are adequately equipped for the character of the tour. I also have some general recommendations on what to wear in Iceland. If you discover at the last minute that you forgot to bring gloves, broke the zipper on your jacket, or need to find some other items, I have compiled a list of outdoor shops in Reykjavík and around Iceland.

I generally use Grivel G10 New-Classic EVO crampons. The universal binding system works on almost all suitable footwear, but more rigid hiking boots will be a better match than footwear with very soft and flexible construction. Generally speaking, B1 / B2 class boots are best.

Absolutely. If you would rather use your own equipment, feel free to bring it along!

Certainly! In fact I have a separate page dedicated to the topic.

Sure, but please be aware that any items you bring on your tour will be at your own risk. I do not assume responsibility for any accidental loss or damage.

No problem – the easiest way is to just send me an email!
