Terms And Conditions
Most outdoor activities require a certain level of health and fitness. It is the customer’s responsibility to notify us of any relevant health issues (diabetes, asthma, medications, etc.). Customers are aware that outdoor activities may present a risk of injury and participate in all activities at their own risk and responsibility. We urge our customers to ensure adequate insurance coverage for the chosen activities.
Participants must always comply with safety instructions. We do not take any responsibility for accidents that can be traced to the participants’ own actions.
Clothing & Equipment
Outdoor activities require clothing and personal equipment that is adequate for Icelandic weather. We accept no responsibility for lost or damaged personal equipment. When in doubt, please contact us for suggestions on clothing and other personal gear that are relevant to your tour.
Always bring one extra thermal layer.
Hiking boots should be rated at least B1 for glacier excursions that involve crampon use. For ice climbing, B2 or B3 rated boots are a significant advantage. We do not provide rental services but may be able to help you arrange rental through other companies given sufficient advance notice.
Please ensure you are specifying correct contact information as we may need to reach you to discuss short term adjustments to our plans due to weather or other circumstances.
Our tours may include pick-up and drop-off from your accommodation. If meeting us at another location better suits your travel plans, please make sure you arrive in time for our departure. Driving on Icelandic roads can take more time than anticipated; if there are any delays please notify us as early as possible. If we are unable to reach you, a delay of more than 30 minutes will be considered a “no show”.
Outdoor activities may have to be cancelled due to severe weather or other unforeseen conditions, possibly at very short notice, in which case customers will receive a full refund. Cancellations by customers more than 48 hours before the tour will be fully refunded. Short-term cancellations will be charged 50%. No-shows will be charged the full amount.
Payment and Security
All prices are in ISK (except where explicitly display in other currency) and include all taxes and surcharges. Conversion rates may vary when making payments with other currencies. Typesetting and printing errors excepted. Always double check final amounts before payment to avoid mistakes or errors.
Unless otherwise noted, promotion codes and discounts are transferable, but cannot be combined with other discounts, have no cash value and cannot be returned or redeemed for cash.
All personal and payment information is transmitted securely over encrypted channels in accordance with PCI DSS security standards. Payment data is exclusively processed by our payment provider Borgun and never transmitted or stored elsewhere. Personal and booking information is handled directly by us, never transmitted to third parties, and – unless otherwise required by law – removed no later than one year after the tour has ended.
Any refunds are processed as soon as possible, but there may be delays in processing through the parties involved. We can only return payments to the same credit card that was used for the original payment, and do not provide refunds in cash or by other means. Refunds are made in the amount received in ISK; exchange rates may vary.
No responsibility is accepted for losses or expenses due to delays, changes of flights, closed roads or other services or because of strikes, accidents, sickness, damage, negligence, weather, war, changes in bus schedules, or similar causes. We do not assume responsibility for accidents or death that can be traced to the participant’s negligence, acts of third parties, or unforeseen exterior circumstances included but not limited to severe weather, natural occurrences, or accidents.
